select Internet sites that provide information on TB and related health issues
and sites that link users directly to TB-related journals and newsletters.

(MMWRs). The MMWR series, prepared by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
(CDC), is a key vehicle for disseminating prevention, control, screening, and

NCID works to prevent illness, disability, and death caused by infectious diseases
in the United States and around the world. NCID's online journal, Emerging

published six times a year, offers scientific articles about emerging infectious

and biochemistry of mycobacteria and the pathogenesis and immunology of mycobacterial

of work-related illnesses and injuries, including the prevention and control
of occupational transmission of TB.

and organizations providing TB-related services. A subpage called "The
Connections" discusses the interconnection between TB, STDs, and HIV/AIDS,
underscoring the critical need for targeted TB screening and preventive treatment
