CDC NPIN Section 508 and Accessibility Remediation Plan

The purpose of this document is to describe areas of the CDC NPIN Web sites that do not comply with Section 508 Guidelines, workarounds currently in place for visitors that require special assistance, and a plan of action for remediating these weaknesses in the future.

• Web Communities
  These web communities are developed using COTS programs that do not consistently follow Section 508 Guidelines.
  Current Solution Workaround: Users requiring specialized assistance can contact an NPIN Information Specialist.
  Remediation Plan: Future communities will be designed to be compliant.

Planning for Accessibility

All new content added to CDC NPIN is developed to comply with Section 508 Guidelines. In addition, the site is re-evaluated periodically to ensure compliance standards are met.
