Peer-to-Peer Katrina Survivors Support
The CDC National Prevention Information Network has established this webpage as a resource to our partners assisting in the Hurricane Katrina recovery effort. CDC NPIN encourages all organizations to join the peer-to-peer support listserv to offer assistance to those agencies accepting Hurricane Katrina evacuees. In addition, you will find important links to other resources.
To assist you in providing support to evacuees we have developed a Regional Service Directory containing a list of organizations that provide HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, or TB related services. Services may include HIV testing, HIV medical and treatment services, social services, transportation services, financial assistance, Viral Hepatitis, STD and TB testing and treatment, and mental health/counseling services. The regions included in the directory are areas with large numbers of Hurricane Katrina evacuees. Services in other areas may be searched through NPIN’s extensive Organizations Database at www.cdcnpin.org
