Alamance Cares, a Burlington, N.C., organization providing free STD testing and promoting safer-sex education, will host several events to mark National HIV Testing Day on Thursday, June 27. On Tuesday, June 25, the center will extend it testing hours from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Counselors will be available at the organization’s headquarters, 3025 S. Church Street in Burlington, to discuss test results and offer education about preventing the spread of STDs. Also on June 25, Alamance Cares will offer walk-up testing at Pate Homes, 101 Lunsford Drive, Burlington, from 10:00 a.m. to noon. The testing is open to the public and the organization will provide condoms and free food. Later, on June 27–28, Alamance Cares will test at a Walgreens in Greensboro.
