Free HIV Testing Makes for Romantic Valentine's Date
Abstract
The University of Oklahoma’s (OU’s) Women’s Outreach Center is partnering with Expressions Church to offer a unique Valentine’s Date on February 14. OU students and their significant others can go to the main lobby of the campus’s Oklahoma Memorial Union, 900 Asp Avenue, Norman, Okla., from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for free and confidential HIV testing. Expressions Church HIV test counselors will conduct the testing in private rooms; students do not need to bring any identification or medical records with them to access this testing. OU Women’s Outreach Center Director Kathy Moxley explains that the center is hosting the event on February 14 because the week is also National Condom Week, which seemed an appropriate time for raising HIV awareness. Expressions Church provides HIV testing Mondays through Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 1:00 p.m.to 5:00 p.m. at the Expressions Community Fellowship, 4010 N. Youngs Boulevard in Oklahoma City.
