The YWCA of Greater Lafayette, Ind., will host an awareness luncheon on January 18, 2013, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. that will focus on cervical cancer and the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine. The YWCA is located at 605 North 6th Street, and the cost of the luncheon is $15. Guest speakers for the luncheon will be Kirk Forbes and Heather Banks. Forbes was recently featured on “The Dr. Oz Show,” where he spoke about his 23-year-old daughter Kristen’s death 11 months after she was diagnosed with cervical cancer. In response, Forbes and his wife created the Educate, Vaccinate, and Eradicate (EVE) Foundation in Kristen’s memory. EVE is dedicated to eradicating cervical cancer and reducing HPV infection levels. For more information on the foundation, visit www.kristeneve.org. To register for the luncheon, call (765) 742–0075.
