School Officials: 75 Exposed to Tuberculosis at Butler High School
Abstract
School officials at Butler High School in Augusta, Ga., report that 75 students and teachers—out of 500 tested—have received positive results for exposure to TB. Fifty individuals have not returned to get their results; there is one confirmed case of TB and two others who could have contracted the disease at this time. School officials began testing at the school approximately a month ago—and according to Carol Rountree, executive director of student services, the situation is currently “manageable.”
