Allowing workers to test for STDs more efficiently, the Springfield-Greene County Health Department in Missouri is the first in a four-state region to utilize a new diagnostic tool called PANTHER. The FDA has just recently approved the system, which will also save money. There is a current shortage of lab technicians, and as Michelle Petit, a senior lab scientist, explains, you are trying to accomplish more with fewer individuals, and trying to get results out to patients more quickly.
