NH Hospitals Learn From Hepatitis C Outbreak Abstract Hospital experts who have experience with drug diversion and hepatitis C are sharing lessons that they have learned with their colleagues in New Hampshire, where a former Exeter Hospital employee has been accused of stealing drugs and infecting more than 30 individuals with hepatitis C. The worker was charged in July with taking drugs from the hospital’s cardiac catheterization lab and replacing them with contaminated syringes that were later used on patients. A conference sponsored by the New Hampshire Hospital Association brings officials from the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and Rose Medical Center in Colorado on October 25 to speak to New Hampshire health care organizations to assist in developing strategies to minimize the risk of similar incidents at their facilities.
