Oconee County Sheriff Scott Berry and deputies on Wednesday arrested a woman accused of intentionally avoiding TB treatment. The woman, who was apprehended after law enforcement received a tip as to her whereabouts, was charged with reckless conduct and is being held in medical isolation at the Oconee County Jail. She tested positive for TB in April and was being treated by Georgia Department of Health officials. In July, she missed an appointment because she was jailed on an unrelated charge, the sheriff’s office said. She apparently left town after her release, and an arrest warrant was issued.
