Annie Lennox, Angelique Kidjo Sign On to Toronto Hope Rising Benefit Concert

Abstract
The second annual Hope Rising! concert, a benefit for the Stephen Lewis Foundation, will take place on Nov. 7 at Toronto’s Roy Thomson Hall. The event also will mark the 75th birthday of Lewis, a former UN special envoy for AIDS in Africa. The concert supports grassroots initiatives fighting AIDS in Africa. Last year’s inaugural event sold out and raised more than $500,000 (US $508,000). This year’s headliners include former Eurythmics singer Annie Lennox and west African singer-songwriter Angelique Kidjo.
