3 Active TB Cases Found in Letcher, 1 in Inmate

Abstract
An official of the Kentucky River District Health Department told WYMT-TV in Hazard that three active TB cases have been found in Letcher County. All the cases are related and have been contained, said Health Education Director Renee Neace. Because one patient is a county jail inmate, all other inmates and jail staff have been tested; retesting will take place in eight weeks. The inmate is hospitalized; the other two individuals who tested positive are taking medication and are no longer contagious.
