N.H. Hepatitis C Outbreak Grows to 27

Abstract
Health officials investigating a hepatitis C outbreak linked to Exeter Hospital’s cardiac catheterization lab have confirmed six more cases of the infection. The latest cases bring to 27 the number of people infected with the same strain of the blood-borne virus. Anyone who underwent treatment at the lab since October 2010 is urged to get tested, either at Exeter or at alternate sites in Hampton and Portsmouth. State officials suspect the outbreak was caused by an employee’s misuse of drugs.
