OraSure CEO Named to Presidential HIV/AIDS Panel

Abstract
|
| The CEO of OraSure Technologies, manufacturer of the rapid OraQuick HIV test and other products, has been appointed to serve on the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS. PACHA provides advice, information, and recommendations on domestic and global HIV/AIDS policies. Douglas Michels serves on the board of Bethlehem-based St. Luke’s Hospital and Health Networks, and he was previously on the boards of the National Blood Foundation, the National Committee for Quality Health Care, and the Coalition to Protect America’s Health Care. “It is an honor to have a Pennsylvania business leader among those selected to advise the president and secretary [of Health and Human Services] on the critically important issue of HIV/AIDS,” Sen. Bob Casey said in a joint statement with Sen. Arlen Specter.
