HIV Prevention Education for High-risk Women

The Baltimore County Department of Health developed a movie theater-based media campaign promoting HIV prevention and health education targeting high-risk women between the ages of 18 and 44. Their animated commercial ran before every PG-13 and R-rated movie in the three largest movie theaters in Baltimore County over the course of six weeks. The commercials allowed Baltimore County Department of Health to engage theirr target audience with no distractions, thus increasing the rate at which the audience would recall our message. Forty-four (44) :30 commercials also ran on one of the area’s largest African-American radio stations over the course of two weeks. The Public Service Announcements promoted HIV prevention and health education targeting high-risk women.
