Rap-It-Up

Since 1998, Black Entertainment Television (BET) has teamed up with the Kaiser Family Foundation on Rap It Up (RIU), a comprehensive and sustained media campaign to inform African-Americans about HIV/AIDS. The partnership includes targeted public service announcements (PSAs), long-form documentary and entertainment programming, free resources, including an informational guide developed especially for the campaign, an extensive website: www.rap-it-up.com, a toll-free hotline 1-866-RAP-IT-UP and a text message/SMS service. The campaign also includes on-the-ground community events around the country.
