HIVMA Minority Clinical Fellowships

Description
Grant Amounts: Two fellowships of up to $60,000 plus fringe benefits for one year will be awarded to the chosen candidates.

The primary objective of the HIV Medicine Association Minority Clinical Fellowship is to enable underrepresented minority post-residency physicians to gain HIV clinical experience and expertise in an HIV clinical setting. The goal of the program is to increase the number of minority physicians with the expertise and the commitment to provide clinical care to HIV positive patients from minority communities. Two Fellowships will be awarded to an African American and Latino applicant—MD or DO—with a demonstrated interest in HIV medicine, who will have completed their residencies prior to the start of the Fellowship, or are in the first five years of medical practice. Individuals currently in clinical practice will be expected to spend at least 50 percent of their time on clinical care and clinical education associated with the Fellowship.
